Bread and Roses

Hi!

Today I'm going to talk about the movie "Bread and Roses" that we watched in class.

I really liked the film and how the director deals with immigration and the unfair jobs. I mean that this is applicable in so many countries including Chile, we can see this when Latin Americans are taken on without contracts or the illegal ways for pay less than they deserve.

My favorite character was Rosa, I think that she really was a traitor when she gives away  the other janitor`s, but she was taking care of her job. She had a big responsibility since she was very young.

I liked the scene when they started to organize to protest. How the characters start to grow up and started to believe in the cause, that they deserve things like better salary, insurance, and better conditions to work.

I don't like one of the first scenes, when the persons that bring them from Mexico to Los Angeles, doesn't accept the ring and the watch that Rosa and Maya offer to pay the travel, and they kidnap Maya. I think that the scena was an extra to put more action to the movie

It was a good movie.
